So excited to announce that Wakefield and District Astronomical Society (WADAS) will once again be welcoming Chris Lintott to give his presentation entitled "Bangs, crashes and planets: Astronomy in 2016" next Thursday 1st December, 7.30pm at Horbury Academy. Everyone welcome, members £3 and non-members £5 and entry includes a free raffle ticket. It will be fabulous to see as many people there as possible for this very special guest. Check the WADAS Facebook page or website for further details.

Hope you have all recovered from the Chris Lintott and curry evening.

Well the winter season hasn't begun well with as much cloud as we can shake an eyepiece at.

Our next meeting is on Thursday unfortunately I won't be there due to work.

It's the christmas quiz night so I hope you can all attend and sorry I'm going to miss another interesting meeting .

Thank you to all those that attended the AGM last night.

A few new ideas went to vote and will be in the update when Vicky has wrote up the minutes of the meeting.

I have updated the membership list accordingly. Many thanks to Soupy and Vicky for standing in whilst I have not been available.

Hi Lee. The next meeting is 23rd February as it had been moved back a week due to the school half term holiday. We will hopefully have Paul Money giving his talk on Voyager. Hopefully see you there :)

Just a reminder that it is our WADAS meeting tonight at Horbury Academy with our very own chairman Paul "Soupy" Campbell giving his talk entitled "Inner space - our own corner of the Galaxy!".

Due to parents evening at the school, the meeting will have a slightly later starting time of 7.45pm.

Hopefully see a few of you there for what promises to be a very interesting evening :)

Just a reminder that our next WADAS meeting is this Thursday 6th April 2017 where we have our very own Gain Lee giving his talk on Observing and Imaging Galaxy Superclusters.

This promises to be a very interesting and entertaining evening as Gain, in his very own style, imparts some of the wealth of knowledge he has gained over the many years he has held a passion for astronomy.

Meeting starts at 7.30pm at Horbury Academy.

Everyone welcome, however there will be a £3.00 charge for non-members.
