Wizard Nebula - SHO

Hi All,

Took advantage of the number of clear early evenings last week and concentrated on a single target.

NGC-7380 - The Wizard Nebula.

At best part of 15 hours total imaging time this represents the longest set of exposures on any one target.

Taken with the Esprit100ED and The STT-8300.

60x5min Ha

66x5min OIII

48x5min SII

DSS/Pixinsight and Photoshop. Presented in straight Hubble SHO.

Not sure how to blend the channels (if that's the right word) in Pixinsight to get the much deeper orange colours that others have.

If anyone knows any good tutorials?

Comments and advice welcome.

Clear skies.

That is a very deep image, look at all the stars!  The image is pushed a bit too much for my taste. You bring out some noise when you push the detail out.

It would be interesting to see a stack of just your Ha data. I would expect it to be super smooth and noise free with 60+ images!

I think the image has huge potential, keep going at it !

Glennbech,

took your advice and dialled the stretch down a bit and focused on the core nebula.

I also added the Ha as a luminance layer (50% weight).

Followed John's link and adjusted the colours.

Definitely a better result. Thanks guys.
