Just a few from the two camera's... I took a  "raw" shot every min so have a few to go through :eek:

On the "way in" I used the 7DII  with 600/f4L IS USM and 1.4X Extender II  and the  on the "way  out" I used the 5D III behind the same lenses... The kit was mounted on an NEQ-6 tracking at Lunar rate...

Yes just a bit... The PA wasn't nailed for 1344mm FL  so there's a drift and occasional "tweak" reset to sort out - I am hoping PIPP will come to the rescue like it did for my Solar Eclipse anim...

Superb set of images Pete and very nicely resolved.    Are these stacked or single images?

By the time of totality I was up to a 4 second exposure at ISO 1600 (1100D and Vixen 80m @ F11 ish) - I would have liked to use one of the newts, but conditions were a little too gusty for the big sail.

They are all single images.

The 5D III exposures ranged from 1/2s f5.6 ISO3200 to 1/800s f5.6 ISO200  the 7DII were 1/1000s f8 ISO400 to 1/2s f5.6 ISO3200...

I would probably have just shot the whole think with the 5DIII is I was doing it again but wanted the low noise performance and wider field with the full frame sensor for some "moonlit" panos etc...

Thanks for the info Pete, they are cracking results for single shot - perhaps I'll be able to mount a faster setup for my next attempt (in 2033!) .   The totality shot 4330 edges it as a composition for me with the wider star field :)

Really nice Peter. Mine did not come up that well as I did not use the mount, just tripod with 300mm lens and 600D, bit unforgiving!  Not got a westerly view either.

How did you get the bright part of the moon at  the bottom of the red ones, to show some detail?

was it two images, taken at different settings?

Sorry been out for the count, I didn't even hear the air ambulance circling overhead and landing a few hundred m away...

Fay -  I was by this time making adjustments between exposures every few minutes  and was getting the idea of how much change was necessary... Then developed the raws in DXO OPE 10. which allows you tease a bit more out of them... Although the same can be achieved using other Raw development  software... I then worked as TIff all the way through until the image was res0zed and a jpeg produced for web use...
