Hi

I am Peter from Washington Tyne and wear, been interested in astronomy for quite a few years now but getting more interested and involved recently. I love my photography but get frustrated at what I see in my scope is not the same in my DSLR

So here to pick up help and advice and to produce images often envied...

Hi Peter and welcome to SGL, I am afraid, as you will probably know, that your eyes can never see or resolve the faint starlight or nebulosity that results from long exposures with your camera. But you can produce some beautiful images of what you looking at. The forum is library of information on imaging and photography, it just needs you to input your questions into the relevant imaging sections for guidance, enjoy your imaging and the forum :)

Hello Peter - a neighbourly welcome from Springwell Village. I'm a complete newcomer who hasn't even ordered a scope yet. Just new on here too.

Hello, I'm also in Washington, at Blackfell. Sunderland Astro is a very active group in the area, and meet at the Washington Wildfowl & Wetlands centre on Thursday evenings, and the 2nd and 3rd Sunday evening every month. A very friendly and helpful bunch, with a permanent observatory located at the Wetlands.
