Aldebaran emerging

Enjoyed watching Aldebaran emerge from behind the moon this morning.

You can just see it in this pic taken using my phone and a pair of binoculars.

"Aldebran" - I thought it must be a new type of breakfast cereal. ;-)

It is amazing watching the moon move against the stars isn't it? It makes the celestial mechanics real instead of just conceptual. I always feel the same about watching the phases of Venus as it moves first further from and closer to the sun as the weeks go by.
