Tripods?

I currently own a Celestron Astromaster 130-eq

When I look at tripods I notice that they seem to be similar in how they connect to the telescope.

I was wondering if people here have swapped or changed their tripods? I want to know if my telescope can be upgraded to a better tripod.

Preferably looking at the computerised tripods.

most scopes can be made to fit most mounts ,you may have to change the dovetail or get a adapter,clear skys charl.

Thank you, after some digging I found a similar answer. It should fit and doesn't look too much of an issue. If I'm successful I'll post the results.

Are you talking about putting the mount onto a different tripod, or just swapping the telescope to a different mount?

Most scopes come with either a Vixen/Synta dovetail or for larger/heavier scopes the Losmandy is more common. Provided the mount has the correct dovetail clamp it will take any scope with the correct fitting. As said, there are also adaptors to convert between types.

If you are talking about putting your mount onto a heavier duty tripod then this is often possible but may need an adaptor of some sort to allow it to fit properly.
