Just joined the forum and have recently moved to Darwin Australia - the skies here are pretty cool and can't wait to get my new (first!) telescope.

I'm originally from the UK, but have been wandering the globe for the last ten years.

I ordered a Celestron AstroMaster 130EQ MD yesterday - it seemed reasonable enough and from what I have read a good beginners telescope.

I've already found lots of useful information here and ordered my copy of Make Every Photon Count based on recommendations here.

I'm looking forward to maybe contributing a bit more in the near future, but any tips would be welcome.

I do miss the southern skies, maybe it's a case of the grass is greener on the other side but its worth a trip just to see Omega centauri let alone the L/SMC.
