A StarAdventurer image. Holiday widefield.

Took my new StarAdventurer with me to Crete. I have a Canon 450d and have a 50mm lens, all which fitted easily in hand luggage. There are a few lights where I am which I had to hide from and a lot of wind, but first attempt managed this:

To say I am happy is a monster understatement. This is 20 x 2 mins. No darks/flats/bias, just stacked.

Greece has plenty of nice spots and places with dark skies. Well not anyone that I know is around Athens

Very nice Matt. I have fond memories of dark Cretan skies from 30 years ago. We went back in June for the 1st time in years and wow, they do love their lighting these days, I had to really search for dark areas.

There are so many things I have never seen before down here. Its lovely!

The tripod I am using is a XCSource Q555 which is fine for what I need and was very cheap and is also extremely light for travelling.
