Now, JOC forces ES to compete with their very own 82° line. Why? It can't be that ES has been selling the eyepieces too slowly. Half the time they've been on back order. Really, JOC has a hard time keeping up with the demand.
I don't think ES is going to be very happy with the Opticstar XL 82° taking out part of their market share.

JOC is a huge optics manufacturer so it seems to me to be very unlikely that lack of production capacity has been the reason for short supply of ES eyepieces. it is surely more likely to be due to other issues such as poor demand prediction, batch lead times and perhaps ES cash flow.  JOC is  an optical manufacturer which has been happy to ship to 3rd parties in the past so it is no wonder they are doing so again.
