Confused

Hello all, new to this forum. I have a skywatcher D114 F500 telescope at the moment and have enjoyed using it but I want to upgrade to a better scope. I have been looking at Skyliner 200p 8" but to be honest I have looked at so many different scopes i'm confused, I have 300 pounds max to spend and want to see deep space objects and planets more clearly. What would you recommend ? is the skyliner the right choice ? I have a revelation eye piece kit which I will be using with the new scope. Thanks in advance for you advice.

The 200P should be great for deep space stuff.

Generally planets need long focal length to get the magnification required, so many people have a separate scope for them.

Good choice for an all round scope. You should see loads through that.

Just check that it is portable enough for you to carry/transport easily and that you have space to store it comfortably.

skyliner 200p is one of (if not the) best selling scopes for a reason.....it's good.

Another vote for the 200p, great choice. It has a fierce reputation on SGL, it will give you good service for many years.

I think you've already hit the nail on the head, the 200p Dob sounds perfect for your budget and what you want to achieve

Yup the 200P dob is a great all rounder and good for deep sky. It's also a substantial upgrade on your current scope and will serve you well for years to come. Very good choice!

Its a good choice. The size maybe an issue if your  needing to get away to darker sites, but fits nicely inside the average family car.  This telescope excels from a dark site ( as should all telescopes, up-to their limit ).  I worked in Cyprus some Years back, and I remember bright lights everywhere!
