A wander around the Moon

I have spent the last two nights just enjoying looking at the Moon and Saturn with 4" Frac and its been pretty breath taking. It was nice just to sit on my new Lidl ironing stool and relax and take some time to study the Moon and Saturn with no worries about camera settings, wire connections, laptops etc. The clarity and 3D views of the terminator was just fantastic despite the turbulance trying its best to spoil it. The scope stood up fantastically to high powers with my 2x Meade APO Triplet Barlow and Meade 5000 9mm, Saturn was a good image scale and it looked fantastic in moments of good seeing. The focusser is a joy to use and im really looking forward to seeing a few good globualr clusters like M13 etc nearer to the new Moon.

I sit on a bar stool, looking at the moon. It's much more fun when you get a map and start identifying stuff.

I know it sounds rather unusual but the stool is great for observing as it has a good range of height adjustment.

When I was in England last year, I went to Lidl's to see if I could get one or two of the ironing stools, as there'd been quite a lot of talk about them on SGL. They were out of them when I got there.
