Area around Capella

A single 3 minutes ISO 1600 exposure with a 24mm lens on a Nikon D300. What do you think of the color of the Milky Way, is it correct?

:shock: Crikey loads and loads of stars. It's a superb image, no idea on the colour though.

Lovely image. For no REALLY good reason, I just fancied it a bit REDDER. Though this does seem to nicely pick out some of the stars that are recorded as bluish on my coloured star map - Notably Eta & Phi Aur (nice contrast with the reddish fellow "Haedi" zeta Aur?) and Beta Tau. Somehow I associate the background with reddish emission nebulae [wibble]

I've been woundering if the colors are correct, but from what I've learned they should be abour correct.

As a postscript... I should maybe say that I too suspect it should be vaguely orange - As indeed it already is.

It's just, as Matt Lucas might say, "I like RED".

But I sense external galaxies often appear as slightly yellowish in most pictures, so indeed, perhaps our own?
