Sure, here's a single uncalibrated raw frame of the flying horse.  I had about 34 of them - https://www.dropbox.com/s/dom7is8rxp7ltj7/IMG_0800.CR2?dl=0

I've got my white balance set to daylight - per Juan at cheapastro where I got my camera from - 'For astrophotography, it is recommended to set white balance to daylight and ISO 1600. The camera seems to produce the best astronomical pictures with these settings but, of course,  you might prefer using other parameters.'

Bear in mind that I'm using it at a dark sky site, not sure how long I'd be able to go with exposures under LP.

cheers

Thats great Stuart, that's nowhere near as bright as one I have done in the past, however, I can't remember what settings I used. The forecast looks promising in the coming days so as I'm off for a week I'm planning on spending as much time out there as I can. I'll mimic your serttings and see if they help.

Cheers Lee

The bonus of a modded camera is that you can easily stick on a lens and with a travel mount like the Star Adventurer, you can get lovely holiday snaps without the need for all the paraphernalia of a more sophisticated setup (which you can still use it for at home). These are from my Cornwall trip last week with a simple 50mm lens and 12 x 2 min exposures taken from a darkened driveway by the rented cottage:

Hi All

Shame about all the clouds and rain recently !

Need to go back to the summer to get any significant amount of data............ Ah distant memories of sunshine and clear nights !

Here is the ' bubble' using a 130pds, 1100d and Castell uhc filter (no CC !)

Thanks for the post and the pictures everyone.  I will be sending my 1100d off for mod soon.  Your photos are inspiring.  Here is one of my attempts with the 1100d without modification.  Can't wait to see what I get after the Mod is done.
