Red light app for iphone

Recommended Posts

Is anyone aware of an app you can download so you can use your iPhone while observing without the glare killing your night vision. I searched the App Store and just found apps that let you use your phone as night vision googles. I'm looking for one that lights the screen up in red.

Thanks.

Most of the apps I have on my android phone have a night mode that reddens the screen to preserve night vision. If you need something to use as a torch when setting up, I use an old red bicycle light.

Not sure if there is an app that can redeem the screen on everything, if that is what you meant?

Seems to be one calle "Sunset", http://lifehacker.com/sunset-lets-you-use-your-phone-without-losing-your-nigh-512439302

There is an option on iPhones to invert the colours so instead of black markings on a white background you have white amrkings on a blsck background - so much less light.

There is one here: http://appcrawlr.com/ios-apps/best-apps-preserve-night-vision

called Sky Time but cannot work out how much it does.

Problem is that search on "iphone" and "night vision" results in apps for the camera to operate as a low light system, not for a simple red screen/text.

I searched with "iphone red screen night vision" for the most apparently relevant results but not many.

I think the easiest option is to get some rubylith film and cover the screen with it. I actually put some inside a waterproof case and it did the job very nicely.

The problem with apps which offer red light modes is that if you come out of the app for any reason you end up with a bright screen again.

I discovered this very handy iphone option just last night.
The ability to set a shortcut to turn it on makes it ammmmmazingly handy.

Yes that works very well. I just press the home button 3 times to turn it on & off. It only works with the latest iPhones & IPads, I think you need iOS 11.
