hypothetical plant in space question

hello everyone. i'm a design student who's been given a weird exercise.

long story short, I need to know how would a living plant survive in outer space, hypothetically.

laugh as much as you want - but, say i have a growing seed, and i am currently on a space station. In what kind of vessel should i store it in order to release it outside? Should it be the same material as for space suit? 

I know a question like this cannot be taken seriously, but, i'll take my chances   let your imagination run free, and, thank you for even reading this crazy post!

Why would you want to release the plant into the wild?

Well it's a "concept development" project, and it's about sending a certain message rather than the mere action of growing a plant in space.
