Very nice set up, like the tripod and mount. I see you have used bino type mount, what is the mount like in use on planets?

Thanks for the positive comments. The mount is a Televue HD5 – similar to the old Televue mounts but beefed up and sitting on the Berlebach tripod it comes with.

ADM Televue adapter with ADM Vixen dovetail. It also accepts Losmandy dovetails. PrimaLuce 95mm tube rings – wish they were black but you cannot have everything!

Here’s some more pics showing a bit more detail. Have not had a chance to use the telescope much as all the parts have just come together and I have been away most of the summer. Looking forward to the short days!

Here's my Meade 127mm ED Apo, bought in 2009.

I've balanced the colour here for the white telescope tube, which is lit by house lights while the background is lit by the Moon. A Meade 5x Barlow is fitted, as I'd planned to image Mars and Saturn via a webcam (though in the event it clouded up before I could do anything).

Regards,

Mike Crowle.

Just realised you have the built in wedge which could help get around the Alt restriction, apart from when pointing N. I'm tempted by the wedge for mine as it should allow the scope to go past Zenith on the S meridian.

Very nice big brother to mine :) Lot's more room on the 6/8SE version by the looks of it, and the Moonlite sets the whole thing off a treat :)

I've set an Alt limit of 75 degrees on the handset so it hopefully won't suggest objects above this, I don't want to crash into the mount!
