Smokey proms, 10th May

Hi all,

This was a bit of an experiment to try and get more contrast/depth on proms than I typically get. Not sure if it helped but I did more contrast than usual before sharpening, I normally do most of the contrast after sharpening.

Thanks for looking! Luke

That's neat, looks to be a method worth investigating. It's definitely a great pic.

I do my contrast after too and some times you feel like you are losing too much in the image.

Will give it a crack.

Thanks, all! Jarrod I get the feeling that I tend to kill the prom and limb contrast with my processing at times, I think it's especially the way I usually invert. More experimenting needed! I have some captures of the big prom taken in reasonable seeing so have some data to practice on. I am soooo behind with my processing. Nice problem to have, though!
