Right, let's go back to the beginning.


Get your tripod reasonable level, doesn't matter if your spirit level is out, take two readings, reversing the spirit level between readings, and split the difference - that's level.


Get the OTA parallel with the fork arms and then use the wedge to get Polaris in the eyepiece, or use Kochab to get PA more accurate.


Then drift align. In #11 you say the RA drive rate error is too great, but you have checked the RA drive rate and I agree with you that the error is very small.

In any case the error you are correcting in drift alignment is drift above or below the line , not drift to right or left.


So please explain that statement a little more, because getting good drift alignment is important.
