Amateur attempt at NGC 3718

This one is really much too faint for my semi-urban skies but I couldn’t resist having a go.  It is made up of 16x5 minute subs each of LRGB, taken through the deforked CPC1100 over the last couple of evenings.  Of course it needs much more time, as well as darker skies.  Maybe some Ha would help?  Anyway, I was pleased to see the Hickson 56 group - the distance of 450 mly is staggering!

Thanks Fay and John.  I think it's as good as I can get from here - the arms are about the same level of brightness as my background sky.  But it was fun to do...
