SYnscan Firmware Confusion

Hi All.

My Synscan controller has the word Synscan, (in Gold) under the LCD window and Synscan AZ (In White) at the bottom. When I boot holding down 0 + 8 I het hardware ver 1.7 If I boot normally it states "Allview Pano" 3.9.24

I am using this on a Skywatcher EQ6 GOTO (Upgraded with GOTO kit) This hand set has been working fine up until now. So I have been trying to update firmware but I cannot decipher which firmware update applies to me.

I did buy the handset separate to the kit.

The most up to date firmware version is v3.37 http://ca.skywatcher.com/_english/05_service/01_download.php .

Get this error! version 3.xx firmware does not work on version 73.xx hardware

As you might have noticed, your synscan controller is for "Allview" mount, not EQ or AZ mount.The latest firmware for it is V3.09.26,

Is it right that the controller that I have is not compatible with my mount? (did work fine for a long time)

I think the v.1.7 is to do with the handsets updating function, rather than the controllers firmware version.

If I connect to the handset I get this information-   hardware 73.73 firmware 73.73 database 73.73

I have emailed Skywatcher with this fault should get a response soon (lol)

Skywatcher has not got back to me (5 days) so I guess its a write off. After attempting to flash the unit. It has now decided not to power up when connected to the mount!  Boooo Skywatcher
