SkyWatcher/Celestron PowerTank cable

Recommended Posts

I've bought a SkyWatcher PowerTank for my Skywatcher Skymax 127 SynScan AZ GOTO but realised that I don't have a suitable cable for connecting the two together. D'oh!

I looked online thinking that a cigarette lighter cable would be a few pounds but was shocked to see that suppliers are asking about £16 for one! Am I missing something or are they just selling three off-the-shelf components at a healthy profit?

Is there any downsides (other than time and skills) to making a cable myself? Can I get one anywhere for a reasonable price?

Can I use one of the other outlets on the PowerTank instead? The screw terminals (excuse the in-proper terminology) seem the obvious cheap alternative.

Thanks!
