2015 03 10. Skywatcher ED80 + TSShorty 2X barlow+Semi Apo filter+ ASI120 MC. 5000 frames - stacked - 2500.

Can anybody tell me about my ASI120 MC fps - is it good - o not good.

I bought new laptop for planetary imaging - it's parametres:

Intel® Core™ i7-4702HQ Processor 3.20Ghz Turbo Boost(6M Cache, minimalus greitis2.20 GHz)
NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2GB + Intel® HD Graphics 4400
512GB SSD
16GB DDR3 RAM 1600Mhz

And with that machine yesterday i had about 55 fps on 640x480. Is it normal or too slow for this camera? Here is my camera settings from yesterday:

Camera=ZWO ASI120MC

Time_format=HHmmss
LT=UT +2h
Frames captured=5000

So - is it good speed or mayebe i'm doing something wrong? Thank you for your help!

Very nice particularly for the aperture size! The ASI is an excellent camera very capable. You could always reduce the "ROI" size from 640x480 to smaller this will help the frame rate as well, there is little point capturing black sky, although you will loose the moons!

I think you'll be happy with your laptop choice. I have a i5, 2.8ghz processor, 6GB ram and a Samsung SSD and I'm running the same camera but the monochrome one and I don't have any problems. Going back through some of my Saturn logs, I was running around 50 FPS average. Hope this helps. Great image. Thanks for sharing. Clear skies...... :icon_salut:
