Hi and welcome to the forum. That's a very useful size of aperture that you have there on your new scope and if you can access dark skies you are most certainly going to enjoy some great views.

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone! I've been out there for two nights in a row now, and I love it! Although it's not easy to fit the XT8 in a Panda.

I've also encountered my first problem: the finderscope (Orion 9x50) seems to heavy and when looking at objects at the horizon, the scope is not steady. I guess some counterweight at the other end of the tube should fix this problem. How should I do this? I was thinking about adding some velcro, so I can be flexible with adding weight. Any suggestions?
