Dark sites near St Ives

I'll be travelling down to Cornwall in May (staying in Carbis Bay) for a week.... just wondering if anyone knows any decent sites / astro-friendly country pubs nearby (looks like LP is pretty terrible around St Ives itself).

Pendeen Watch (Lighthouse) is usually a good spot, you'll normally find a few locals there.
