Celestron NexImage 5

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have the Celestron NexImage 5 camera? It's very inexpensive, which always makes me skeptical. I know this type of camera is only meant for planetary imaging, and even then requires image stacking with the included software. But I wonder if it's easy to use? Celestron also says the camera can be used to guide. Anyone have experience with this camera for planetary imaging or auto guiding?

I too have been looking at this camera today.

I see that, according to your wig, that you have one of them. If your not guiding or planetary imaging with it what do you use it for?

It does seem inexpensive for a 5mp cam. I wondered what the catch was!

I have it on order from B&H and should have it in hand in a few days. I'm hoping to do planetary imaging and auto guiding with it.
