Thought I'd sign up and say hello.  I've read many posts on this forum and thought I'd finally register. 

I'm a professional astronomer, radio mostly, and I finally decided to try to find some time for some casual sky observation, which I miss doing.  As far as backyard astronomy goes, I guess I'm somewhat of a beginner in that I'm just learning about all the casual observing scopes you guys use.
