Hey Folks -- Just starting out and want to say hello. I've been using a Celestron Skymaster 20x80 binocular as my gateway drug, but I just bought my first real telescope. It's a OrionXT8 Classic and it's being delivered today. I got the package that comes with a 2x Barlow eyepiece and the "Discover the Stars" book. Lots of light pollution here in the Bay Area, but I'm way out in the East Bay, so it's not as bad as in the city. Besides, Mt. Diablo and Black Diamond Mines Regional Preserve are close, so I can always head out there. I've also heard there's no light pollution over the ocean, so I can head for the coastline, too. Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting started and gaining lots of insight here.

Cheers.

Ray
