Astrophotography with a Mobile Camera

Getting into mainstream Astronomy and Astrophotography

I have a 140mm Newtonian Telescope

Decided to plunge into Astrophotography with a Mobile Camera, this is what I could achieve

Hi and welcome to sgl. The capabilities of mobile phone cams are limited. The scope sounds adequate but a driven (preferably guided) equatorial mount is necessary for any kind of extended exposure.

Welcome to SGL. Amazing you caught the cloud belts of Jupiter. Getting exposure right is not easy with such a small target against a black background using a mobile camera

It shows the main bands well enough  nice result from a single frame and your set up. It reminds me of my first attempt with a film camera

You can get reasonable images of the Moon and Jupiter with a mobile phone, you may be able to get something on Saturn too.

Michael... Thanks to you too... I too was amazed I was just tinkering with exposure and managed to get that frame

Laurie... Guess we started of on the same foot

lunator... Yes will keep trying to capture others till I upgrade my setup... Right now trying to get M42 Orion Nebula... With long exposure will keep you posted...
