Hi,

I am totally new to this; don't have any equipment and would appreciate if someone could guide me to stargazing events where I could experience stargazing for the first time

Actually, if you are totally new I would reccomend that you download stellerium on your pc/mac/phone and then start learning some constellations.  You can then go outside and apply what you have learned to read the sky...no equipment neccessary.  All I have is a pair of binoculars!

One club in Stirling and one in Falkirk (Is Falkirk in Stirlingshire google maps implies it is not)

But that is about is as best I can see.

There is one at Dalgety Bay but that may be too far.

I would have expected one at St Andrews, but nothing listed and that would be too far to travel.

I would ask at the clubs as Stargazing Live is at the mid-end March and clubs often put on public nights for that.
