Another Jupiter from the good 31st Jan session

Here is another image of Jupiter from early on the 31st Jan.

Again running lower gain (60-65 ish) removed any vertical banding noise.

Definitely getting there Pete and nice detaul emerging in the grs and neb - definitely limited by conditions, but perhaps now we've turned the corner!

You are certainly getting some fine results from your C14, is the 60-65 you are referring to the histgram level?

Hi Pete,

No the 60-65 refers to the overall gain level in Firecapture. Much above that and I start to get vertical banding noise in the image.

The histogram ends up at about 50% at that gain.

Looking good Peter. Good you have sorted the banding issue though at the loss of ability to push the histo above 50%. Doesn't have looked to have impacted the image. One thing to watch for though is that if the histo is too low, when you put the image into Regi it will stretch it (even if you tell it not too) and it tends to over do it. No evidence of that here though.

Great detail :-)  I use the same camera Peter and I very rarely go above 50% gain :-)
