Panel for Flats

Would I be able to get away with using an A4 panel for taking flats with on my 8" Newt?

Still not decided to go with either LED or EL yet....am busy looking

I have an A4 panel that i'm using for my 8" newtonian and it works pretty good, it's just large enough for an 8". The panels light isn't really even on the edges so might cause some problems if not cropping the edges so going for A3 would probably be better, but they are much more expensive.

I'm upgrading to a 12" newtonian and i have ordered an A2 panel to use with it. Better that it's too large so the light is as even as possible.

I got the box from Lacerta (austrian-hungary company) for an 8" newt - just 80€ for a neutral colour box. Best value for the price imho but don't know of they send it to the uk

I recently made a flats light box using LED's and tracing paper. The paper spreads the light out and gives for a very nice even field. Im pretty sure you could apply the same logic to a light panel, if you can get A3 tracing paper
