This one for Caz...

Well, a lousy night but I can see why Caz is having "difficulty" hitting M78... it's smack in the middle of a huge cloud of stuff, a bit nebulous but it does make the little [removed word] hard to catch visually. Bexause of all sorts of high thin cloud, approaching mist, earthquakes, floods and other excuses this is as good as it's going to get for tonight. 4 frames of 2 mins each, binned 2x2 with the ART-285, 0.5 FR and Megrez 80 II FD guided through an 8x50 finderscope and an SC3... all on the EQ6

Cracking image Arthur, this one i find a tough nut to get anything with tried a few times recently but no luck but alas i wont give up hehe.

Nice one Arthur , its a faint devil that one , but you done well to get it with that cloud base , i had it the other night , but was not happy with it its very small eh , but at least Caz gets to see it now , good stuff

Nice picture. I take it this is one that I could see visually, if I had clear skies, and lit up some tobacco for the Great Manitou?

Oh, I think visual is possible, about mag 8, but bexause it is part af a dirty great diffuse nebula it's a bit awkward to nail down.
