Pluto awaits...

It's good to see Pluto back in the spotlight - and rightfully so. Sounds quite a feet for this close encounter.

I've just been reading about this, Andrew. I love these events and it is great to see so many going on at the moment with lots of missions to solar system objects sending us exciting new data.

Lets hope all the cameras wake up after their nine year snooze

I remember having a book as a child and it speculated on what Pluto looked like. Ever since then I have wanted to see what it was like. Finally this will happen.

I can't wait for a close up view of Pluto.

I still consider it a planet, not a dwarf planet.

Aren't we lucky to be alive during what is surely going to be regarded as the golden age of astronomy First probes to Ceres/Vesta, first detail of Pluto - Charon system, first probe to land /orbit a comet, more new exoplanets with hints of chemistry than one can keep track of... All the way to the shaking of the foundations of physics with the mysteries of dark energy and dark matter!
