ultranova
Hi every one, whilst I was waiting for m78 to get past the house, I thought I would have a quick go atm81 and 82 with the SW reducer Flattener, that gives a shorter focal length and slightly faster opticson the f4 Quattro brining it down to f3.6..I normally struggle a bit with the optics on the Quattro at the best of times so I was a bit hesitant on using it.The picture is a result of 48 minutes worth of subs a mixture of 500 second and 300 second subs.A little noisy and the stars are not 100% especially going towards the corners but I don't think it is to bad,I might be able to tune the Quattro a little more but inevitably the stars will never be as good as using the correct flattener.Software used :PI and DSS and PEWhat are your ThoughtsPaul
strutsinaction
Nice capture! A couple more galaxies in there too - an edge-on galaxy (towards the bottom right hand corner) and UGC5247 (right, middle). I think I can just make out a faint smudge of Holmberg IX too (M81 dwarf satellite galaxy).RegardsJohn
