Anyone familiar with AstroCap

Looking for a helping hand around AstroCap software for image capture.

I am having a world of pain with it and was hoping anyone that has experience with it can point me to some tutorials or provide advice here.

Both Firecapture and Sharpcap have online tutorials. Free software, maybe try one of those? I use Firecapture, the tutorial on youtube is good.--Jack

Problem with Sharpcap is that while it connects to the Orion Pro Mono camera it doesn't give all the options you would need e.g. gain, exposure, gamma etc.

Firecapture i haven't tried as first glance it didn't seem compatible with the camera.

I have my QHY5L-II connected with Firecapture. It works fine and has great features. The orion ssag and ssag "pro" are rebranded QHY5 and QHY5L-II respecktivly.

Thanks mate, i installed it last night but whenever i switch to Jupiter profile it would crash. Reinstall time and count down till clear night.

I just started with it myself. Perhaps your Jupiter profile is wrong?

Not sure, i haven't modified any profile, literally select Jupiter from profile instead of default (Mars).

Probably installation is faulty.

Perhaps, for me it brings up the preview and histogram with default settings for Jupiter.

I will also try with different camera, and machine as well just make sure i get everything tested.

Worst case scenario i'll recreate the Jupiter profile, as that is the only faulty one. Weird.

Right Firecapture is not picking up my SAG PRO. I'm wondering whether i should look for drivers for the QHY5L-II and install them.

Awesome, thanks mate. I tried their main site but couldn't find anything.

Also figured out the Jupiter profile issue, it seems like the program crashes when you select Jupiter profile with webcam. It doesn't crash with other cams tho. So seems like program limitation.

I tried on multiple machines, unfortunately even after installing the QHY5-II drivers on both W7 and W8.1 machine Firecapture still couldn't detect the camera. Will have to look for other software by looks of it.

Just checking, when program loads, you will see choice of camera makers. Select QHY , it should then detect you camera. If it doesn't try a different cable. Past that I don't know. Works fine for me.
