Now I no how to set circles and manual polar align its time to upgrade my telescope, and was thinking to get a celestron vx advanced 800 egde hd telescope with a DLSR cannon camera, but does anyone here no whats the best ccd imaging camera to get as my webcam on my seben telescope was not that good. the aperture settings are not all that and the mp is to small. any help would great.

Hi Waghorne and welcome to SGL, you may get a better response to your inquiry if you post again in the Beginners guide to imaging section. Seben scopes have somewhat of a history on the forum and if you have been having problems trying to image, it may not all be down to the camera. I am not into AP, but the Imaging sections should be able to pride the help you need, enjoy :)

Welcome.

As for your choice of scope/camera, you have a great visual scope there, but it is not the ideal setup for imaging. I am assuming you want to do some deep sky work, and for that, I would recommend a nice widefield refractor rather than the long focal length SCT you have mentioned. The mount is great, I know a couple of people who have it and they love it, so no worries there and they both have 8" SCTs on it, but they don't image with those scopes. For that money, you could get a glorious 80mm triplet refractor and you would be set for years and years.

Cheers

Matt
