Jupiter 16th January '15 from Burton on Trent

Managed to get out on Friday night for a bit before the cloud came over. Had a quick process at different focal lengths. Usual equipment used: CPC800 and QHY5L-ii c. Captured at F10, F20 and F30 respectively. Looks like I got 2 moons at F10 but don't know which ones.

Io is the moon closest to Jupiter in your photo and Europa was following it.

The f20 version looks the best to me too.

What does the f30 version look like when downscaled to match the size of the f20 ?

Thanks for the kind comments. I haven't tried downscaling an image. How do I go about doing that?

Jake, I hadn't seen that until you pointed it out. A plane maybe? I think the F20 looks the better as well. Do you think this is the optimal focal length for C8, as I can never quite get a crisp image at F30.

Very nice! I've been wondering the same thing about aperture with my scope (SW200P) - I think F/25 may be my limit - will be interested in what other people say...
