Hesitate to post this as everybody else gets a nice tail, only took JPEGS so perhaps I need to use RAW ?

What did others use ?

Definitely, most definitely take RAW images - it gives you much more flexibility to stretch the data during processing.

So same picture P'Shopped to death, unfortunately to find the tail also finds the light pollution

Yes forget the jpegs.

You have the makings of a tail there so it's not far off.

Thats not to bad, as I said there was a tail in there some where.

Took JPEGS for speed to avoid having to stack comet and stars and try to stick them together in PS.

Expect some PS expert could replace the background, I've done it before but that was only with a few stars not thousands
