Stellarium slewing help needed please

I would appreciate help with this please.

I have done the following but without success (in my dining room without any other set up which I suspect may be the problem)

downloaded stellarium

downloaded driver for RS232 - USB serial adaptor cable

added my cpc925 to the stellarium telescope control plug in

picked the COM port and have managed to get the software to connect to my scope - now showing as "connected" and not "stopped"

then clicked on "move telescope icon"

then clicked on an item on the screen for the  scope to slew to and then clicked on the slew button and nothing happens.

As I haven't told the scope where it is I don't suppose it will know which way to go.

The name I've given to my scope "CPC925" does not appear on the main stellarium view of the sky.

Should I do a false alignment indoors? or something else.

Have you missed a step out ? On the scope window that pops up once you have selected the object in the main window you have to click on the set coordinates ( not sure what it says exactly ) then you click on slew.

Appologies if you are doing this... Just checking :-)
