best way to fix a piggyback guidescope to an 8SE Celestron

Hi Alec,

Firstly I would ask Alan at Skies Unlimited - he is very helpful.

My thoughts as follows:

If you do not want to use the existing finderscope then removing it should liberate two screw holes. The finder shoe you have shown, which looks like a standard Synta size, may not have the same distance between the holes but a finder shoe with slotted holes will probably solve this problem:

A more comprehensive solution, which I have, is to buy an ADM Mini Dovetail Bar and Adaptor:

You will certainly be able to find a way of attaching the finder to the adaptor and it is a very future proof solution which allows you to quickly attach and remove all kinds of accessories. Not cheap though.
