Webcam and finderscope - Achieving focus

Hi, I've got the ScopeTeknix Big-Eye 50mm straight 8x finder:

I'm trying to achieve focus with a PS3 Eye and Logitech Quickcam Pro 4000 webcams. I've got the low profile adapters and removing the focusing ring doesn't seem to help. I can only achieve focus by pushing the cam very far forward in the 1.25" fitting on the finder, and then I can't secure the cam properly because the cam adapter has been pushed past the locking bolt. Any suggestions would be great.

Have you removed the webcam lens?

Yeah I've done that and a 1.25" adapter is in it's place.

if its anything like my Skywatcher finder , I had to butcher about 8 mm off the length to achieve focus ... google 'diy finder guider' for more info

Thanks for the replies. It's a bit dissapointing really as it has a 1.25" fitting to allow for use with guiders and eyepieces, I bought it thinking I wouldn't need to make modifications to it.

if you can find a QHY5 it will push in further ... might work

Cheers they'd definitely work but are way outside my price bracket at the moment. I've achieved a workaround by filing down the threads on the lens mounting of the webcam and its adapter. This just about works.
