I guess the biggest limitation is Paintshop x7 Pro cannot open the Autosave Tif file from DSS which after reading a post made today is not ideal but I will live with it.

I think the default autosave tif is 32-bit floating point but under 'save picture to file'  (on the lhs) there are various 16/32 bit tif/fit format options that you can save an image as.
