GaryCH
Hi all,I have a Meade ds 2090 scope with an alt/az mount. I'm interested in using it in a polar alignment setup and I see there are adjustable wedges out there. Does anyone know where I could get one? Or if it would even work on my mount?Any thoughts are much appreciated Gary.
GaryCH
I found this article on converting to an eq mount..http://monochrome.sutic.nu/2014/12/09/converting-an-alt-azimuth-mount-to-equatorial.htmlFirstly, I'm not quite sure how that would work without a wedge that would allow you to track without field rotation and secondly, I don't think the autostar software can disable the altitude motor and run in polar alignment mode. I'm not sure if I'm missing something here but I would've thought I'd need an adjustable wedge and software that knows that it is working in a different way to the standard alt/az setup. I really want to work this out, one way or the other, to see if I can spend my cash on a better scope and utilise my existing mount for effectively. Any thoughts much appreciated, as always Gary.
