Hi,

I have been reading items on this forum for a short while, and now that I have my first real telescope which I received at Christmas, I was keen to join and hopefully pick up a few pointers regards to imaging. 

So looking forward to a bit of chatting.

Hi, the telescope I have is the Celestron 8" SCT on the advanced VX mount. I also received the Neximage 5 camera. Although I intend to try some prime focus imaging with my DSLR as photography is my main hobby and the astro imaging is an extension of that.

However I do appreciate that photographing planets and deep space objects bring all new challenges for me.

I am already building a new shopping list for a focal reducer and a guide scope.

I would be very interested to know what guide scope set up you guys would recommend for my telescope and mount.
