Max exposure time due to light pollution

Hello all,

I was out last night and spent quite a few hours drift aligning my setup to try and get some decent exposures on M45 only to find light pollution restricted me to 30s . I know the snow won't be helping but it got me wondering how much others are restricted by it and how far you can push the exposure before the LP ruins the data. I've done a quick stack and there's some serious gradients. Think a CLS clip filter is needed.

Thanks

I would'nt push the histogram peak no more than 50%.

On the whole I keep mine somewhere between 25 and 40%

I use a clip filter with moderate LP,  this gives me 300sec subs at f4 and ISO 1600

I do get serious gradients from various sources but PI DBE or GradientXTerminator normally deal with that.
