2014 Royal Institution Christmas Lectures

Look like they could be interesting this year.  Presented by Professor Danielle George who appears to be into electrical engineering and radio astronomy and spent some time doing research at Jodrell Bank.  Looks like the majority of the series is about hacking everyday electrical objects to do new things, but rounding the series off covering how the next Mars rover will be controlled.

Was just talking about it with my 7yr old, they're studying electricity at school at the moment so it'll be fantastic for her (and me).

I know they're primarily aimed at children, but actually I think they're fantastic science programmes all round.

I started watching these with my dad back in the 1970's.

And who could forget Professor Eric Laithwaite.

One of the few "must watch this" programmes over the festive period, haven't missed one for ages.
