tamworth stargazing

Does anyone still observe in the tamworth north birmingham area? Been out the loop for a while and am wanting to get out there again. Ian

I'm just down the road from tamworth in atherstone really bad for light pollution but manage to get some good views from time to time don't know of any good spots locally as I don't drive I'm pretty much stuck in the backyard with the scope. Danny

I used to drive to a spot just outside burton up the A38. A nice quiet layby to park and set up in. Lp much better than in tamworth. Had the best view of orion nebula there.

Yea Tamworth isn't the best for light pollution . I joined the Rosliston astronomy group just north of Tamworth :)
