Hi everyone! 

What you guys think about a celestron advanced vx mount coupled with a William optics GT81 triplet refractor with 0.8x reducer for astrophotography??Will it be good for long exposure or i also need an autoguider?

Depends on the term "long exposure".

Are you thinking 60 to120 seconds or 600 to 900 seconds?

With a little time and care on polar alignment then 60-120 should be easily achievable, maybe more but you will have to check out if any trailing is apparent.

To get the angle correct for whatever latitude you are then perhaps one of the Wixies would help to achieve this.

You could well get more, 240-300 seconds, however as said it all depends on the accuracy of the poalr alignment.

Also what is the camera?

A DSLR will build up heat if run for extended periods and so need allowed to cool between exposures (Exposure time may include noise reduction exposures if the camera takes them).

Leave guiders off until you are semi-familiar with the present equipment and what it is that you have to get and do.

I am also planning to buy an auto guider scope to attach.. I would like to start with short exposure 60-120 and then once i can manage it longer... My camera is nikon d5200.
