130 pds quandry

Recommended Posts

I have both scopes.

The 200p I find better for:

Planetary imaging/viewing.

Close up lunar imaging/viewing.

The 130pds I find better for:

Deep space imaging.

less magnified lunar imaging/viewing and mosaics.

What sort of mount and AP were you considering?

The 130pds. The deciding factor is the "occasional" viewing, as soon as the word occasional was added then the smaller size makes it more likely that will be occasional and not infrequent.

Hi Sully,

Are you referring to the HEQ5?

If I was starting again from scratch, I'd go for the 130pds on HEQ5.

With your DSLR you will have the start of a DSO setup and you can still get some nice lunar and planetary shots with the spc900.

I haven't used the 130pds for visual
