Night sky in Ecuador

Dendroica

Recommended Posts

I am shortly off to Ecuador for 3 weeks. I will have with me my 88mm Kowa fluorite scope and binoculars. It will be my first trip anywhere near the equator (normally UK based)

My question is what are the best naked eye, binocular and 'scope sights I should try to see?

Yours in anticipation!

Dave

Surely you know if you take a scope on holiday it will rain constantly? It's the law.

Seriously I was on Ascension Island a few years ago which is right on the equator and the sky was just amazing. Planets are obviously as easy as pie, depending where they are orbitally of course. You've just reminded me actually to brush up on my Southern Hemisphere skies for my sojourn to Oz this summer.
